Veterans and Patriots United (VPU) is proud to present a very special screening of the documentary Travis: A Soldier’s Story, but WE NEED YOUR HELP.  You can help by purchasing a ticket and spreading the word of this event to your friends.

Some of the proceeds from this event will go to benefit the Travis Mills Foundation, and VPU will also be donating our share of the proceeds to Travis’ foundation.  VPU’s share amounts to 5% of the proceeds, but every bit of it will be donated to help wounded veterans and any other donations we receive will also go to the foundation.

Who is Travis Mills and what is his story?

Travis: A Soldier’s Story is the inspiring true story of Retired United States Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills.  Four days before his 25th birthday, Travis was severely injured in an IED blast during his third tour of duty in Afghanistan, leaving him one of only five soldiers from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to survive a quadruple amputation.

The documentary features powerful interviews and emotional reenactments from Travis, his wife Kelsey, and fellow soldiers who witnessed the events of that fateful day.  It is an intimate look into the life of a wounded soldier and you’ll witness the unimaginable physical and emotional challenges of Travis’ life-altering injury.

Travis’s story sheds light on the daily inward and outward struggles of our wounded veterans and the difficult rehabilitation processes they face. Travis’s openness and incredible perseverance will challenge us to look at the way we deal with our own personal trials in life.

Travis’s story is not one of defeat but ONE OF VICTORY, and you will see that in spite of everything he has been through, he continues to overcome life’s challenges, breaking physical barriers and defying odds with his incredible sense of humor and remarkable zest for life.

Travis’s motto is NEVER GIVE UP.  NEVER QUIT, and you will be inspired at how he lives those words every day and uses his experiences to help other wounded warriors.

Today, Travis and his wife are expecting their second child, and despite his injuries, he lives his life to the fullest.  He snowboards, bikes, and recently jumped out of an airplane with the U.S. Army Golden Knights’ parachute team.  He is a sought after motivational speaker, and it will not be hard for you to see why once you’ve seen the movie.

Proceeds help benefit the Travis Mills Foundation.

To help other wounded warriors, Travis founded the Travis Mills Foundation.  It is a nonprofit organization, formed to benefit and assist combat-injured veterans.  Travis also consults and speaks to companies and organizations nationwide, inspiring others to overcome life’s challenges and adversity.
